Bank Teller
Job Description
Responsible for accurately and efficiently processing a variety of cash handling and customer service transactions while providing the highest level of service. You are responsible for identifying bank products and services that would be beneficial to potential and existing customers. including cashing checks, processing savings, checking, and loan transactions. Also sells cashier's checks. Bank Tellers are responsible for balancing each days transactions and verifying cash totals at the COB.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Cash, deposit, withdrawal, or transfer transactions of customers
- Identify bank products and services that are beneficial to potential and existing customers.
- Sell cashier's checks and/or money orders.
- Balance each day's transactions at the end of the day.
- Be able to provide excellent customer service
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of tell cash limits, teller machines, and preparation of teller work
- Able to perform in a highly sensitive environment, deal with confidential matters, and meet deadlines
- Work well individually and with a team while maintaining a positive attitude
- Must demonstrate a business professional image and demeanor
- Must have outstanding listening and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Work well under stress and deadlines while managing multiple tasks
- Critical thinking skills
- Excellent work ethic
- Ability to work various hours as assigned to meet the needs of the business (open/close branch)
- Attendance and punctuality is an essential function of the job
- Ability to operate a computer
- Intermittently standing, stooping, bending at the waist, walking, kneeling or crouching
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods during the workday
- Long periods of typing and repetitive motion
- Ability to lift and/or move and carry 10-25 lbs (cash canisters, coin boxes/bags)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teller experience is a plus, but not mandatory. Training available
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
